Activity holiday company Justactive.co.uk campaigns to get people sailing

UK holidaymakers continue to look for holidays that offer more than just relaxing on the beach, activity holiday specialist Justactive.co.uk announces that as part of it’s campaign to help get more people sailing, it is adding one week “learn to sail a yacht” holidays to its Greece range.

The long term trend in the UK holiday market of more and more customer interest in holidays that offer opportunities to try out new sports and activities continues. Travel companies are seeing increasing numbers of people wanting a mix of “activity” and “relaxation”.

To build on the success it has seen with the range of beach clubs it already offers (which feature sailing) Justactive.co.uk has now added one week “learn to sail a yacht” holidays in Greece. Most people learn to sail in a dinghy (a small, open boat) as they are highly responsive boats and one of the best ways of getting a real "feel" for how a boat moves in the wind. However, for a holiday “experience”, being at the helm of a nice yacht, sailing along in the Mediterranean with blue water underneath you and the sun on your back is a hard one to beat. This experience is now available through Justactive.co.uk.

Holidaymakers taking part in these “learn to sail” weeks live on their yacht for the week and have daily tuition until they are competent to sail the yacht without an instructor. On day four or five of their first week people are ready to go and join a "flotilla" with a group of other yachts for a few days sailing in company -a really sociable and enjoyable end to the first week. People are often surprised at how quickly they progress on these courses and how quickly they feel comfortable being in charge of a yacht. Navigation is usually “line of site” and therefore very simple and as the Mediterranean has no tides, many of the hazards faced in other parts of the world are not present.

If customers then want a two week holiday they can then either follow their first “learn to sail a yacht” week with a complete one week flotilla or have the second week at a beach club. Most beach club holiday centres offer many activities for non-sailors to keep themselves occupied including swimming pools, mountain bikes, waterskiing, tennis, beauty spas and gymnasiums.

Justactive.co.uk are pleased to be increasing the level of choice for their customers by the addition of these “learn to sail a yacht” holidays.

Activity Holidays in Egypt Press Release

Justactive.co.uk announces new Egypt beach club added to its range.

With UK holidaymakers increasingly looking for holidays that offer more to do than just relaxing on the beach, activity holiday specialist Justactive.co.uk announces that it is adding a new beach club to its range of holidays in Egypt.

One of the significant change that UK package travel companies have seen over the last five years is a growing level of interest in holidays that offer opportunities for people to try out new sports and activities whilst they are on holiday, as well as the more traditional relaxing by the pool or the beach. To take advantage of this growth and build on the success it has seen with the range of beach clubs it already features in the Caribbean, Greece and Turkey, Justactive.co.uk has now added a beach club in Egypt.

The accommodation at the club is situated on a beautiful crescent shaped bay and against a backdrop of mountains. The low-rise buildings are dotted throughout lush gardens and the setting provides a cool retreat from the heat of the day. Due to the "desert thermals" the beach club generally has plenty of wind for sailors with over 300 days per year having a wind strength of over force 4.

Combined with year round sunshine, fantastic scuba diving/ snorkelling close by and a long sandy beach this club is a valuable addition to the Justactive.co.uk range. Being on the Red Sea coast, scuba divers will enjoy some of the most exciting diving the Red Sea has to offer including the famous Canyon and Blue Hole.

All diving is accessible from the shore offering a great introduction to diving. Snorkelling from the club’s beach is also excellent with hundreds of beautiful fish and coral within the first 10 metres. Justactive.co.uk are pleased to be increasing the level of choice for their customers by the addition of this club and will be continuing to increase their range of activity holidays.

Activity Holidays in Central Asia Press Release

News Relase

Just active.co.uk features a new range of activity holidays in Central Asia

Justactive.co.uk has announced that it is adding a range of speciality tours to the former Soviet republics that make up Central Asia: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

Justactive.co.uk announces it has added a range of tours to the former Soviet republics of Central Asia. Journeying to Central Asia as an independent traveller, whilst possible, can be frustrating and slow and new web site http://www.justactive.co.uk/ believes there is a need for more organised tours to these countries where people can join up with small groups of like-minded people. Justactive.co.uk therefore has decided to help serve this growing need by adding organised Central Asian tours to its portfolio.

All tour arrangements are made by leading UK travel companies, each with an established track record of excellence in this type of holiday. Central Asia has for centuries been an area of immense strategic importance and is an area of increasing interest to British holidaymakers. With a climate that is hot and arid in the summer and icy and cold in winter this part of the world is not necessarily an obvious holiday destination. However, since 1991 when the Central Asian republics gained their independence there has been a slow but steady increase in western visitors coming to this part of the world.

The new tours are organised to include flights from London and visits to some of the most famous places in Central Asia: Tashkent, Bokhara, Samarkand and journeys along the Silk Road by four wheel drive vehicle. The names of these Silk Road cities conjure up a sense of history which is almost tangible in this part of the world and it is partly this that has lead to a steadily growing level of popularity of Central Asia as a holiday destination for the more adventurous traveller. For the most active traveller Tajikistan in particular offers a range of trekking holidays and landscapes for the adventurous and so opportunities for taking advantage of some of these activities are included on the Justactive.co.uk site.

North wall of the Eiger

The press has recently reported that Ranulph Fiennes is about to attempt to climb the fearsome north wall of the Eiger in Switzerland.

The north wall of the Eiger is a serious undertaking and since it was first climbed in 1938 it has claimed the lives of more than 50 people. Hence it is sometimes known in climbing circles as the "murder wall". One of the biggest dangers on the north wall of the Eiger is rock fall -mainly because of the sheerness of the face and the lack of protective overhangs for climbers to hide under.

The risks of being hit by falling rocks can be reduced by choosing to climb at times of the year when the ice is holding a lot of the rocks firmly to the mountain - hence this attempt is taking place in March.

The climb that Fiennes is attempting would be a huge challenge for any experienced climber but when you take into account that he is 62 years old, has had a triple heart bypass, has already lost fingers to frostbite and has relatively recently started climbing then the taking on of this challenge is astonishing. The climb is intended to raise £1.5 million for charity. More details can be found on his website. http://www.ranulphfiennes.co.uk

Up-date at March 17th: Following three days climbing in good conditions Fiennes has successfully climbed the Eiger
