A typical "club" style holiday also offer excellent child-care for younger children and great clubs for teenagers. This gives everybody the freedom and independence to make sure a great time is had by all. 
For those with more experience, flotilla holidays offer an interesting and active week or two weeks away. On flotilla, although you need enough experience to handle a yacht in pretty safe conditions (and you can do your training in the UK before you go), you always have the reassurance of a "lead boat " nearby with its professional crew over-seeing the whole flotilla.
